We were kindly recommended by a local garage to conduct a deep diagnostic troubleshooting on a Nissan Qashqai with a persistent not starting issue which has been going on for quite some time.

Immediately we noticed that multiple lights were active into the Instrument Cluster; so we decided to connect our diagnostic machinery #Topdon Phoenix Smart into the vehicle to see which faulty codes were present, and drew the repairing process steps by step, from beginning to end, on our whiteboard.

We found multiple faulty codes into the Engine ECU due to multiple engine's electronics components that were not working.

At this point we decided to look into the electric engine wiring diagram to work out which wire was potentially causing the issue.

We found that the red wire was shorted to ground (see picture).

Solution:

the wire was repaired
the engine loom was fitted at the correct position
the correct 15 AMP fuse was fitted as specified on the manufacture electric wiring diagram (rather than the 25 AMP previously changed by someone else)
all faulty codes were cleared

We finally have one more car back on the road!
